Oncostatin M is a growth regulator produced by a variety of cells and has a wide range of attributed functions. Several of these functions include: inhibition of tumor cell line proliferation, liver development/regeneration, regulation of cytokine production (hematopoiesis and inflammation), bone development and possibly nervous system development. Oncostatin M is a non-glycosylated protein, containing 210 amino acids, with a molecular weight of 23.8 kDa.
