Exosome Isolation

The Exo-spin™ kits generate superior yields and higher quality whole exosomes than traditional methods, with no need for ultracentrifugation or organic buffers. Exo-spin purifies particles in the range 30 – 400nm, the same size range achieved with ultracentrifugation. Exo-spin technology is superior to techniques which rely solely on precipitation where co-purification of large amounts of non-exosomal proteins and other material can occur as well as carry over of the precipitant.

Exo-spin kits and columns are designed to isolate pure, functional exosomes from a variety of biological fluids including cell culture media, urine and saliva, blood plasma and sera. Exo-spin purified exosomes are suitable for a variety of downstream applications including RNA analysis, protein analysis, mass spec and functional use.

Exo-spin is offered in several configurations and options for use. Kits for large volume, low exosome-containing samples employ a precipitation step followed by size exclusion column chromatography. For samples with high exosome concentrations like sera and plasma or for mass spec applications, the precipitation step can be omitted. Refer to the following product selection guide to identify the correct product for your applications and sample type.
