qPCRBIO Reagent Instrument Compatibility
Carboxy-X-rhodamine (ROX) passive reference dye is for the normalization of fluorescence errors caused by equipment limitations. This is more pronounced in older instruments where CCD cameras are used and fluorescence intensity is lower towards the edges of the plate.
Some instruments have the option for passive reference normalization to correct pipetting errors. This is an optional step and should not be a substitute for technical replicates.
