DMPO is provided at high purity and does not require any pre-purification as compared to most commercially available DMPO which contains impurities that cause high backgrounds requiring further purification for EPR experiments. DMPO is the most frequently used spin-trapping reagent for the study of free radicals. It is suitable for trapping oxygen radicals, especially superoxides, and for producing adducts with characteristic EPR (ESR) patterns.
