Calcium Transient Assay
The Calcium Transient Assay facilitates the rapid screening of drug compounds for cardiac arrhythmogenic and contraction liabilities by measuring calcium release and re-uptake from the sarcoplasmic reticulum within adult hiPSC cardiomyocytes in 96 well and 384 well plates.
Figure 1. A. Calcium transients after treatment with DMSO. B. A significant (p < 0.05) decrease was observed in the Peak Width and Peak Amplitude of calcium transients at 0.03 μM nifedipine. C. At 0.1 μM nifedipine, an increase was observed in the Peak Frequency of beating while significant decreases were observed in the Peak Width and Peak Amplitude of calcium transients. D. At 0.3 μM, nifedipine, additional increases were observed in the Peak Frequency of beating and additional decreases were observed in the Peak Width and Peak Amplitude of the calcium transients.
